Exchange 2010 ActiveSync "Allow Browser"  Setting with Exchange Standard CALS. Safari Missing.
We discovered that if you purchase Microsoft Exchange 2010 Standard User CAL's that enable a user to access his Exchange email via his IPhone or IPad, then it seems you can NOT have Safari. Per Microsoft's article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123484.aspx and a phone call to big brother the " Allow Browser" has to be disabled unless you have Exchange 2010 Enterprise User CALs. So if you have an iphone or ipad and have Active Sync enabled to receive email and only buy a Exchange Standard User CALs, then you are technically oblicated to disable the browser option and therefore Safari gets disabled... Any Ideas or Thoughts?

It wouldn't be the first time an incorrect answer was given by MS to this question. The "Allow browser" is enabled by default. If you UNcheck the box you'd need an Enterprise CAL. Have a look at the "Organizational Health". If you haven't enabled anything (not just A/S options) that needs an enterprise CAL you shouldn't see anything reported. There used to be a lot of confusion about the A/S options. What it's really saying is that there are some A/S options that, **if they're changed from the delivered default settings**, require an enterprise CAL. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Right on..Thanks for clearing that up Rich. It is much appreciated. I found this article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123994.aspx stating that it should only affect POCKET IE....Tell that to my Iphone, IPAD users
